Thanks to their flexibility, WATTSTUNDE® solar modules adapt to any curved roof surface and are therefore suitable for a wide range of applications in motorhomes and, in particular, sailing boats and yachts.
The integrated aluminium plate gives the module the necessary stability to ensure a long service life even in extreme applications such as marine applications.
Numerous application possibilities
The Premium EFX solar modules have been specially developed for use in the marine sector. However, the modules are also increasingly being used in numerous applications outside the marine sector. The solar modules are frequently installed and used in self-sufficient battery applications such as motorhomes, garden sheds, camping, stand-alone systems and all off-grid systems.
Innovative ActiveWire solar cells
The new ActiveWire technology shortens the distances between the conductor paths of the solar cells, thus minimising electrical losses and increasing the current flow. If a cell breakage occurs, the effect remains localised. This innovative conductor network with 19 busbars (conventional mono modules have just 5 busbars) guarantees a high level of module reliability. Due to the thinner wires, more light is also captured than with conventional surface contacts and partial shading is minimised. This design maximises the energy yield - even in weak and diffuse lighting conditions. Thanks to the integrated bypass diodes in the junction box, the module can continue to produce electricity even when shaded or in low light conditions.

Maximum stability - ideal for use in the marine sector
The integrated aluminium plate ensures that the module is extremely stable in order to meet the extreme requirements of marine and outdoor applications. The modules can be used optimally on uneven surfaces and rounded levels of a boat or motorhome. The EFX solar modules can also be walked on when mounted on solid ground. Weight savings of up to 80% are possible compared to framed solar modules. Due to our high demands on the quality of the solar modules, we monitor every step - from cell production and component assembly to the finished product.

The connection cables are deliberately designed without MC4 plugs.
The choice is yours: the loose cable ends can be connected either below deck or directly on the roof. We recommend using our practical connection box.
The highlight: the cable feed-through can be made directly through the carrier plate. A corresponding cable bushing is already prepared at the factory. Maximum flexibility in wiring is therefore guaranteed!

Further information
In addition to a battery, you also need a charge controller that prevents the power supply and thus overcharging or deep discharging of the battery. It also ensures an optimum charging voltage and guarantees the necessary reverse current protection at night.

We recommend using MPPT charge controllers. These can determine the constantly changing operating point of the maximum energy yield again and again and thus maximise the yields. Especially in diffuse light conditions, significantly higher amounts of electricity can be produced!
