The Starline CAN bus alarm system combines vehicle monitoring with 4G, GPS/GLONASS tracking and a digital immobiliser for your Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo. It lets you receive alarm notifications, check the vehicle's location and make engine starting subject to additional authorisation.
Detect alarm events and review what happened
The system monitors door contacts and battery voltage, as well as movement, tilt and impacts. Its two-stage shock sensor provides pre-alarm and full alarm levels. A waterproof 126 dB single-tone siren provides the audible warning.
If an alarm is triggered, the system can notify you by phone call and push notification. An event log records sensor events and data read from the vehicle's CAN bus, allowing you to review what the system detected afterwards.
Require additional authorisation before the engine starts
The iCAN digital CAN bus immobiliser makes engine starting subject to valid authorisation. This can be provided by a Bluetooth tag, a suitably configured smartphone or a PIN entered using the vehicle's buttons. Possession of the vehicle key alone does not replace this additional authorisation.
The package includes two waterproof STAR-TAG-1 Bluetooth tags. Bluetooth Smart authorisation, keyless entry protection and a hands-free mode are also supported. This allows the additional authorisation to fit into everyday use without relying solely on manual code entry.
Keep track of locations, journeys and defined areas
GPS and GLONASS tracking let you check the vehicle's location through the Android app, iPhone app or web portal in a browser on a tablet, laptop or desktop computer. You can also review past journeys with location, time and speed data. Individual journeys can be exported as PDFs containing these details, while driving style analysis provides an additional way to review vehicle use.
Geofences let you define locations with an individually adjustable radius. Push or email notifications can inform you when the vehicle approaches or moves away from one of these areas, so you do not have to keep checking its location manually.
Control the alarm and supported functions from the app
You can arm the alarm using the vehicle's remote key and arm or disarm it from your smartphone. The app displays whether the system is armed or disarmed. Control and configuration are available through the apps and browser interface. The Apple iOS and Android smartphone app is specified as being in German.
Further options include voice commands, Siri support on iPhone and iPhone widget integration. Assignable buttons and individual colour settings let you adapt the interface. A single alarm tone can also be triggered to help you locate the parked vehicle.
Use existing vehicle data where supported
The CAN bus connection can integrate the original alarm system and existing sensors. Displays for the vehicle battery, cabin temperature, fuel level and odometer reading are also provided for. These functions are vehicle-dependent and may not all be available.
The same limitation applies to central locking control, boot or tailgate opening and the available vehicle data. Examples of configurable central locking actions include locking when the ignition is switched on and unlocking when the handbrake is applied. OBD2/CAN diagnostics allow vehicle fault messages to be read and displayed.
External equipment can also be switched on and off through the app and browser when appropriately integrated. This includes control functions for Webasto and Eberspächer parking heaters.
Plan for workshop installation and mobile connectivity
This system is offered only with installation in our workshop in your Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo. Supply of the alarm system without installation is not part of this offer.
A 4FF-format nano-SIM card is required for operation and is listed as an optional accessory. Remote access and transmission of notifications require a mobile network connection. Allow for the SIM card when planning the workshop installation.

What does the package for the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo include?
