The A1 DIGITAL IoT SIM card lets you communicate with your StarLine alarm or telematics system over the mobile network, at home and while travelling. The AMPIRE Car Connect plan includes 12 months of prepaid use with defined monthly allowances and a roaming package covering numerous European destinations.
Access more networks instead of relying on just one
In Germany, the SIM can connect to the Telekom, Vodafone and O2 networks. It automatically selects the strongest available network, so your StarLine system's communication is not restricted to a single German mobile network.
Where mobile data reception is weak, you can contact your system by text message or voice call instead, provided mobile reception is available and your StarLine system supports the relevant function. Achievable data speeds depend on the device, available network technology and the technical and geographical conditions at your location.
Keep track of clearly defined monthly allowances
The AMPIRE Car Connect plan includes 50 MB of data, 10 text messages and 10 call minutes per month. Calls are counted in 60-second increments.
The flat-rate designation does not mean unlimited data, texts or calls. Data used beyond the included allowance is billed to the user. Additional billing may take place up to twelve months later.
Roaming for journeys across borders
The roaming package covers all EU countries plus the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Turkey. You can therefore use your StarLine system's mobile communication in these countries within the plan's included allowances.
Use it for twelve months, then choose whether to renew
The prepaid term is twelve months, with no ongoing contractual commitment and no automatic renewal. At the end of the term, the SIM card is automatically deactivated.
For continued use, you can purchase a 12-, 24- or 36-month extension through the AMPIRE online shop. Deactivated SIM cards can only be reactivated within six months of deactivation. Keep this deadline in mind if your vehicle is out of use for a while.
Check your system's SIM format before fitting
The card is intended for StarLine alarm and telematics systems and uses the NANO-SIM (4FF) format. Check which SIM format your particular system requires. In a Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo W447 or Viano Marco Polo W639, suitability likewise depends on the installed StarLine system, not on the vehicle model alone.
Activation is anonymous and immediate. No SIM PIN is enabled. Dimensions, dialling code and APN are listed in the technical data at the end of this description.
Service and operating conditions
Data, service and support are provided by A1 Digital. The cooperation with Ampire Electronics GmbH & Co.KG does not create a technical connection to or dependency on AMPIRE. Personal data is processed in accordance with the GDPR; an additional GDPR agreement can be concluded on request.
The terms provide for an exclusion of liability for Ampire Electronics GmbH & Co.KG in the event of SIM card or system failures. This excludes failures caused intentionally or through gross negligence by A1 Digital or AMPIRE. In the event of non-payment, the SIM card may be disconnected and deactivated.

What happens when the twelve-month term ends?
The SIM card is automatically deactivated at the end of the twelve-month prepaid term. There is no automatic renewal. An extension or reactivation is required to continue mobile communication through this card.
How can the prepaid term be extended?
You can extend the prepaid term by 12, 24 or 36 months through the AMPIRE online shop. A deactivated SIM card can only be reactivated within six months of deactivation.
