Our solar system for the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is also suitable for models from 2020 with Mercedes-Benz MBUX and MBAC system. Our system works independently of the MBAC system. Voltage, current, charge, etc. are displayed and logged in the solar charge controller app, just like in vehicles without the Mercedes-Benz MBAC system. In the MBAC system, you can then see the battery voltage and the capacity / charge of the starter and body battery as usual.

As an option to our 250 watt solar system for the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo, we recommend installing a lithium battery and a charging booster, so that you are travelling with significantly more capacity and the body battery is always charged while driving until it is full.

With the solar system, you are self-sufficient when travelling in summer and winter. The solar system is designed so that the refrigerator can always run at level 2 or 3 and you can charge various devices via the 12-volt and USB sockets, provided your Marco Polo is parked outdoors. We work with a voltage of 70 volts, which makes the system highly efficient and minimises losses along the cable routes. The solar system for the Marco Polo is rather oversized, even if a panel is covered with a roof box, surfboard or sup board in summer, the body battery of the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is fully charged at least once a day. When the body battery is fully charged, the solar charge controller also charges the starter battery and the buffer battery under the passenger seat in the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo.

In practice, all 3 batteries are already fully charged in the morning in summer.

Features

- Two solar panels, each with 125 Wp HV power (total 250 watts), are bonded directly to the Marco Polo pop-up roof and grouted after drying, see photos.

- The height of the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is not increased. The solar panels have a thickness of only 4 mm including adhesive and silicone, so there are no restrictions in the garage, underground car park or multi-storey car park.

- The use of car washes is no problem with the solar system on your Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo.

- Roof racks, whether Thule, Westfalia or others, can still be mounted on your Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo pop-top roof.
