AMPIRE Sitzheizung, 3-stufig schaltbar mit Temperaturregelung

The AMPIRE HEAT300 carbon seat heater is designed for installation in the upholstery of one vehicle seat, covering the backrest and seat cushion. The two heating elements fit beneath leather or fabric upholstery and can be adapted to the seat shape.

Important installation and safety information

Installation must be carried out by a specialist workshop. Check that the seat is suitable before installation. Fitting may be difficult or impossible on seats with bonded covers. Seats with longitudinal channels, or with a centre section narrower than 270 mm, are not suitable.

Follow the vehicle manufacturer's instructions for seat occupancy sensors, seat-belt pretensioners and side airbags. Where side airbags are fitted, do not alter the seat covers or seams; heating mats must only be fitted to the centre section of the foam cushion. Check the vehicle wiring diagram to confirm that the electrical system and wire sizes can handle the additional load, and that there is a suitable location for the switch. Record codes for volatile memory devices such as the radio or navigation system before disconnecting the battery.

Use only the original components supplied. Do not shorten the heating elements across their width or make lengthwise cuts. Narrow transverse cuts and trimming at the end opposite the cable are permitted. Do not damage the electrodes, and keep cuts at least 40 mm from the side edge. Carbon fibres must not touch conductive parts such as upholstery clips, the seat frame or tension wires. Insulate cut edges with fabric tape.

Secure the heating elements flat and without folds; otherwise there is a risk of fire. Avoid damaging them with upholstery clips, tools or sharp seat-frame edges. The surface must be free of silicone, grease and dust before bonding. Allow several hours and apply sufficient pressure for the adhesive to bond fully. Once fully installed, a heating element must not be removed and refitted. Route the wiring so the seat can move freely on its runners and cables are protected from sharp edges, kinks and tension. Disconnect the battery before working on the vehicle electrical system. Heating temperature varies with seat and upholstery materials. If the system fails, check the fuse first.
