The fresh water tank in the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is not heated, which is often unpleasant when rinsing at the washbasin or showering under the tailgate of the Marco Polo.

Here is the solution! Hot water - fresh water tank heating!

We install a self-regulating heater in the fresh water tank, the temperature is between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius. You can switch the hot water heater on and off manually using an illuminated switch located in the kitchen unit.

The hot water heater for the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is fused and connected to the body battery / auxiliary battery, so that the starter battery of the Marco Polo is not charged and the engine can always be kept running / started.

The heater cable is routed through the lid of the fresh water tank with a sealing screw connection, so that the tank itself is not damaged. The cover can be reordered here for retrofitting, for example on leasing vehicles.

The warm-up phase when filling up the 37 litre fresh water tank in the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo is approx. 5 hours, depending on the outside temperature / water temperature. The energy consumption is 8 amps, which means approx. 40 ampere hours with a 5-hour warm-up phase. The original AGM body battery of the Marco Polo is suboptimal.

All the temperature values and consumption values described refer to an outside temperature of approx. 15 degrees and water temperature; at colder or warmer temperatures, the warm-up phase varies accordingly. In winter, at temperatures around 0 degrees, the heater serves as frost protection. The heating element does not manage to heat the water to 40 degrees in winter. Alternatively, a second heating rod can be installed, but this should only be used when the vehicle is connected to shore power or is being driven.

We recommend the fresh water tank heater only in combination with our solar system and / or lithium battery for the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo and 30Ampere charge booster in order to have sufficient energy reserves.
